July 20, 2010
Dr. Charlotte Shupert Joins the Cayuse Team as Domain Analyst for Compliance
Portland, Oregon: Cayuse, Inc., a leader in Web-based solutions for the complex research enterprise, has hired Dr. Charlotte Shupert as Domain Analyst of Compliance. Cayuse is dedicated to understanding industry best practices of the various aspects of research administration, from grant proposal development to commercialization. The addition of Dr. Shupert to the team expands Cayuse's expertise in compliance for research organizations and enhances Cayuse's ability to offer comprehensive solutions to research compliance offices around the country.
Dr. Shupert earned her Ph.D. at Pennsylvania State University and for 20 years studied how the nervous system controls eye movements and balance in humans and animals. Through this work, she became interested in the protection of humans and animals in research, and spent ten years managing the human and animal compliance programs at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) located in Portland. During that time she participated in the successful conversion of OHSU's paper-based compliance systems to electronic systems, and saw significant improvement in compliance operations as a result.
"I am very pleased to join the Cayuse team to help bring these solutions to as many compliance programs as possible," said Dr. Shupert.
In December of 2009, Cayuse added IRB and IACUC modules to its suite of electronic research administration solutions. Cayuse IRB and Cayuse IACUC are designed to administer the life cycle of IRB and IACUC offices from initial submission through completion. With these modules, the research enterprise can efficiently manage multiple compliance offices and review committees, accelerate the review and approval cycle, and manage high volumes of work more accurately.
Dr. Shupert will play a leading role as an implementation consultant to compliance offices adopting Cayuse IRB and Cayuse IACUC. She will also consult on product enhancements and future product direction.
